Only 3 more free sessions remaining.

Your session is free.

The work is real.

As an editorial portrait photographer, I want more of the work I love in my portfolio. So for a limited number of sessions, I'm waiving the $600 session fee entirely for local actors and performers. In return, I ask for a short testimonial and a tag when you share your images.

That's the whole arrangement. This is not a discount. It's a collaboration between two professionals.

Frequently asked questions

Is this editorial session really free?

Yes. The $600 session fee is waived entirely. You receive the same quality of work, the same finished files, and the same delivery as a paid booking — nothing is held back. In return, I ask for a short testimonial and a tag when you share your images.

What do I wear to a session?

We'll be shooting on location and moving through the city — walking, talking, in motion. Wear what genuinely feels like you. The best portraits come from people who are comfortable in what they have on.

✔️ Solids — they hold up across varied outdoor backgrounds

✔️ Layers — jackets, scarves, open shirts over tees. This is San Francisco; layers are always a good idea

Avoid the following:

❌ Prominent logos, brand names, and team graphics — they pull the eye away from you and date the image

❌ Hats cast shadows on your face and hide features the camera needs to see

❌ Very busy patterns compete with the environment

❌ Anything that might feel dated in a year, unless it's genuinely your style

❌ An entire wardrobe. We'll be walking; traveling light keeps things relaxed

What exactly is an editorial session?

An "editorial" session is built around who you are in a real environment. It's not a headshot. We shoot on location in San Francisco using the city's architecture, light, and texture as context, not as background decoration. You'll be walking and talking not standing still while someone adjusts your chin. We might grab a coffee, chat and let things happen naturally. The result looks like you at your best, somewhere real.

I don't photograph well. Can you help?

Most people who feel that way have simply never been photographed in good light with real direction. My role is to guide you through the session using light, timing, and conversation to capture your best, most genuine self. We might grab a coffee, walk and talk, and let things happen naturally.

What are the proofing gallery images?

Your proofing gallery contains low-resolution, watermarked working previews — enough to make selections, not final deliverables. They carry a quick working grade but are not fully color corrected or finished. Once you've chosen your selects, each image is fully corrected, signature-finished, and delivered as a complete set of four files. The proofing gallery is for choosing, not for use.

Do I need to credit you when using the images?

Not required for casting profiles, portfolio books, agency submissions, or social media. The images are yours to use. Credits are always appreciated, but the only firm requirement is that the images are not manipulated, filtered, or altered without my consent.

Do you use AI?

Good lighting makes all the difference between a flattering and an unflattering portrait. Lighting, and my choice of lens and camera body provide rich colors and texture that recall a flattering print magazine vibe. As needed, I may use industry-standard "dodge and burn" tools to remove blemishes, stray hairs, and other anomalies to help you look your authentic best. I do not reshape body parts, alter facial features, or use AI generative fill.

Can I edit the images myself?

I ask that you don't apply your own edits or filters to the delivered images. The finished files you receive are the final, intended work. RAW files are not available.

What if I want to select more than 4 images?

Easy. Selects after the first 4 are $25 each. Your proofing gallery stays open for at least 90 days. You may also choose to purchase images and prints at a later date.
